Star Reader
Our Star Reader program will begin in October. This program enables each child to shine. The week before your child is to be the Star Reader, your child will bring home a reminder paper that his/her turn is coming. The book your child chooses should be a well-rehearsed book that he/she is comfortable reading.
On the Friday that your child is the Star Reader of the Week, we would like you to join us in our classroom from either 8:30 until 9:00 or from 2:00 until 2:30 if you are able. I see it as a fun time for your child to introduce you to our class and for you, as well to step into their world. Also, please plan to tell us a little about your child to help us get to know them a little better.
Your child may choose a book from home, school or the library. Help your child choose a book that can be read easily. Please practice reading it aloud at home prior to the day he or she is the STAR READER. The book should be read in twenty minutes or less. This will help your child develop confidence in his/her ability to read out loud in front of the class.
If you have any questions or concerns about our Star Reader, please feel free to contact me.
